A few days after the death of David Zard, one of the biggest producers and promoters of live shows, Assomusica (Italian Association of Organizers and Producers of Live Music Shows) wanted to remember him with the "David Zard Special Award".

The award was given on Friday 9 February, at the press room of Sanremo Festival, to Angelo Teodoli, Rai1 Director, for the promotion of popular music on the national network.

David Zard was the greatest precursor of live shows in Italy (among the last great productions, the musical "Romeo and Juliet, Love and change the world", produced with his son Clemente, who will return on stage next February 14th from Milan for a long tour) and a master for the operators of the sector, an important communicator able to "create bridges" with the media.

"Sanremo Festival is a unique event - commented Vincenzo Spera, Assomusica President - In this context all the categories of the industry collaborate for the success of the event, for which young people live and live creativity! Sanremo Festival, but also Rai1, has given much attention to the new generations, obtaining excellent results in terms of music. A clear example is given by Sanremo Young, which shows that there are prerequisites for advancing the sector. For delivering a recognition to the media, the "David Zard Special Award", is dedicated to a real father for those who work in this environment ".

On the same occasion, the "Assomusica Award Sanremo 2018" was given to Mudimbi, for the originality and the ability to excite during the live performance.
